Project Manager – Oxford area
£40,000–£60,000 (depending on experience) + bonus + 30 days’ holiday + hybrid
Are you an experienced Project Manager who wants to move into a high-growth, technology-driven environment? Join a specialist design and build business, headquartered in the Oxford area, delivering complex, high-performance projects for clients across the UK and internationally.
You will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, working closely with technical experts to bring complex, high-value schemes from concept through to completion. With offices across multiple regions and a strong pipeline of work, this is an opportunity to grow your career in a fast-moving, future-focused sector.
The role
As Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of bespoke technical infrastructure and construction projects, typically involving complex construction, M&E and fit-out elements. You will:
- Use recognised project management frameworks (such as APM and PRINCE2) to structure and control projects from initiation through to handover.
- Scope and initiate projects, test feasibility and define budgets, resourcing and delivery plans.
- Create clear project schedules and timelines (including Gantt charts) aligned to client requirements and site constraints.
- Select, lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams drawn from internal specialists and external partners.
- Coordinate all activities to keep projects on programme and within budget, while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Monitor progress, manage change and maintain accurate project reporting for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Identify, assess and mitigate project risks to ensure reliable, on-time delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement, implementing lessons learned across future projects.
About you
You will be a confident, organised Project Manager with a solid track record of delivering complex projects.
We’re looking for:
- Preferable knowledge of the construction industry, ideally with experience across technical or M&E-heavy projects.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets and commercial performance.
- Competent user of Microsoft Project and Excel for planning, tracking and reporting.
- Clear, credible communication skills – able to engage with clients, contractors and internal technical teams.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple projects or workstreams.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach combined with the confidence to lead and challenge where needed.
- APM/PRINCE2 training or qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
- Living within a reasonable commuting distance of Oxford is preferred, as regular time in the office is important to build relationships and stay close to live projects.
What’s on offer
- Salary in the region of £40,000–£60,000 depending on experience.
- Company bonus scheme.
- 30 days’ holiday per year (plus bank holidays).
- Pension scheme.
- Hybrid working with flexibility to balance office, home and site work.
- The chance to work on innovative, high-density, high-performance projects with a growing international business.
