SUPERVISOR – Growing Accountancy Practice

Our client is well-established, growing and multi-sited accountancy practice located in Thame, Banbury, Oxford and London. They are looking for experienced and dedicated ICAEW or ACCA qualified accountants who are looking for an exciting new role within a vibrant and forward-thinking accountancy practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical knowledge and skills
    • Up to date with legislation in accounting, audit and tax
    • Keep up to date with the changing environment of auditing standards & requirements.
  • Accounts
    •  Produce technically accurate statutory accounts for partner review.
    • Briefing and assisting junior colleagues with client work as required,
    • Take responsibility for accounting deadlines ensuring that these do not impact on clients and responsibility for jobs delegated to junior staff.
  • Management accounts
    • Communication of scheduling requirements to managers in order to facilitate preparation of draft management accounts.
    • Able to analyse and discuss figures in a commercial context.
    • Review of bookkeeping assignments, making recommendations to clients
  • Audit
    • Working under own initiative in order to assume responsibility for planning, fieldwork and finalisation of the audit
    • Ability to interact at a high level with clients and client staff
  • Tax planning and compliance
    • Review of corporation tax returns and associated schedules
    • Working knowledge of relevant tax incentive schemes, such as EMI, SEIS, EIS, R&D etc.
    • Continuous consideration of corporate tax reliefs
  • Team management and communication
  • Development of the business and the role
  • General
    • Displaying energy and enthusiasm for all aspects of the role and a willingness to assist others in any way possible and to take on new challenges.
    • Timely completion of your CCH timesheet to enable partners / mangers to consider WIP.
    • Awareness of monthly billing figures, reviewing WIP on a monthly basis and planning work and taking responsibility for debtors.
    • Achieving full membership of a professional body.

Candidates that apply must have recent or current Accounts experience within a practice at supervisory level, ideally within a fast-paced environment. You should be organised, with good attention to detail, pro-active and a possess good systems and Excel skills.
