Our client a well established pharmaceutical company in Bicester are looking for a Microbiology Product Specialist/Manager to join their growing team.
The role will contribute to the continued growth of the business by supporting direct sales activities with technical advice.
Responsibilities:
- Be the product and application knowledge expert within the business
- Develop strong relationships with current and future key thought leaders within the industry.
- Understand how the product portfolio fits within the market.
- Provide technical advice and support within the business, and all customers and partners on the company’s range of products in media and equipment including a commercial awareness of pricing and client usage.
- Establish working relationships with key industry leaders and thought leaders.
- Participate in industry expert groups, e.g. PharMIG, PHSS, NHS QA groups, joining at least 1 committee and utilise this network for conferences and marketing when appropriate.
- Monitor industry trends and developments to assist with future product development and direction.
- Co-ordinate introduction of new products acting as a conduit to the client.
- Contribute to the general technical knowledge base within the business by building in depth product knowledge and facilitating training and knowledge sharing.
- Have a robust understanding of the market value, the competitors market share,
- Contribute to marketing material, including website content, newsletter articles, press releases and blog with technical writing and input.
- Actively identify relevant exhibitions, Plan and execute the attendance for the business.
- Look to maintain and increase skill and knowledge within microbiology and product.
- Work with suppliers where needed to understand product development and availability.

Competencies
- Science qualification – Microbiology degree is a must for this role
- Industry experience – demonstrate a knowledge of pharma industry, environmental microbiology and GMP
- Good communicator – effectively understand customer needs and share internally

- Attention to detail – provide accurate and appropriate information and advice

- Other experience – the successful candidate should also have some commercial experience/awareness, have some experience or knowledge of microbiological media, and have experience of writing technical content.
This role is a full Time position – 7½ hours per day, 5 days per week, usually working between 9.00am- 5.00pm. Flexibility to work additional hours may be required.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
In return our client is offering a salary of £45,000-£50,000 (DOE) plus benefits.
